Florida Forever – the world's largest public land-acquisition program and one of its most successful – is an integral part of the conservation landscape in the Sunshine State.
Florida Forever is Florida’s primary environmental land acquisition initiative. It is preeminent in the nation –investing $300 million per year towards Florida’s future through the acquisition of the state’s most important lands and waters for conservation. Florida Forever and its landmark predecessor program, Preservation 2000, have together acquired more than 2 million acres of the most significant natural areas in Florida since 1990.
