Coastal and Estuarine Land Conservation Program
The Coastal and Estuarine Land Conservation Program (CELCP) was established within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in 2002 to protect coastal and estuarine lands considered important for their ecological, conservation, recreational, and historical or aesthetic values. The program provides matching funds to states to purchase significant coastal and estuarine lands or conservation easements.
In Florida, the program is coordinated at the state level through the Florida Coastal Management Program. CELCP in Florida supplements and coordinates with the Florida Forever land acquisition program.
