Authors James M. McElfish, Jr. and Austin Kane examine utilities in three states—New Jersey, Michigan, and Washington—that represent a diverse range of utility types and regulatory frameworks. In addition to highlighting the activities that utilities are implementing to conserve wildlife on the lands and waters they own and manage, this report identifies a wide range of opportunities for utilities and state agencies to use wildlife action plans to inform policy, planning, and management decisions.
