First Thoughts on LandScope

Next week will be an exciting time for the LandScope America project team, as we launch our preview website and introduce the initiative at two conferences.

First, at our own NatureServe Conservation Conference, in Golden, Colorado, we’ll have a session on Monday afternoon (Oct.1) at 1:30.  A few days later, like many of you we’ll be attending Rally 2007, hosted by the Land Trust Alliance in Denver.  Our LandScope America session at Rally will be held on Friday, October 5 at 1:30 (Session #B02). A good part of that session will be spent gathered around flip charts in breakout groups—we’ll be asking the participants to talk about how they might use the website and what sorts of information and features will be most valuable to them. If you’re attending either conference, please stop by those sessions to meet us in person.

NatureServe will also have a booth set up all week at Rally, so we’ll be easy to find. I’ll be spending a lot of time manning the booth in between sessions, so please stop and say hello. The Milky Ways we handed out last year were a big hit; should we go for Snickers this time?
