Rally 2007 is next week

We are so excited here at the Land Trust Alliance about our upcoming Rally in Denver, CO. (Oct. 3-6). This annual conference is shaping up to be the biggest one ever, with an estimated 2,000 land conservationists coming from all 50 states and a number of foreign countries as well. One of many sessions at Rally will be a detailed look at LandScope America and how land trusts might put it to use. We’re looking forward to getting more input from the land trusts who attend on their first impressions and what features they’d like to see on the site.

Our partnership with NatureServe and National Geographic has really helped to get the needs of land trusts front and center in the site design process and the feedback has been great so far. We are also collaborating with NatureServe, GreenInfo Network, ESRI and NOAA on a free land trust technology clinic at Rally, and we’ve had people signing up for the last month! With these new tools being developed and our evolving partnerships, land trusts will have the support they need to learn about, focus on, and start implementing strategic conservation in their communities. It’s an exciting time to be working with all these motivated conservationists.

If you’re going to Rally, stop by and say hello!
