Ecoregions in Maine
Most of Maine falls within the Northern Appalachian-Acadian ecoregion, which stretches north into Canada. The southern portion of the state contains the northernmost reaches of the North Atlantic Coast and Lower New England-Northern Piedmont ecoregions.
