Project Description

This conservation easement protects a 186-acre property adjacent to Green Ridge State Forest in Flintstone, Maryland, including frontage Kifer Hollow Creek, a tributary to 15-Mile Creek, one of the most pristine streams in all of Maryland. Records from DNR Wildlife & Heritage Service indicate the presence of state-listed endangered Canada Honeysuckle on the property. The forested area includes Forest Interior Dwelling Bird habitat. Wildlife: bear, bobcat, coyote, fox, fisher, hawks, owls, bats, songbirds, turkey, grouse, deer. Management: DNR Forest Stewardship Plan

Primary Motivations:

The Conservancy protects and restores Potomac landscapes by enhancing a network of rivers, forests, and natural areas. MET's mission is to provide landowners with information and tools to permanently protect natural, historic and scenic resources in the state.
