Richards Easement

Project Description

This conservation easement in Allegany County, MD protects 14 acres of riparian forest along Town Creek and one of its tributaries which were restored through the CREP program, as well as the mature riparian forested areas already existing on the property. The total easement is 25 acres in size, and encompasses the floodplain area along a total of approximately one mile of Town Creek and a tributary of Town Creek. The CREP contract (not the easement) is scheduled to expire on Sept. 30, 2015; the contract area was planted with a variety of hardwood species.
