• A growing new initiative is gaining momentum in close proximity to the population center of Roanoke, VA. Opportunities exist for conservation of important viewsheds (including the area viewed from McAfee Knob), a diversity of ecological habitat, and outdoor recreation. Numerous public and private partners are engaged in this effort.
